ITWBN Blogger Event February Meet-UP
So I’ve spent since November counting down the days ’til the ITWBN blogger event! I had a great time at the last one and met some amazing people. This network is truly amazing. I now have a family of bloggers to help guide me. As Siabh said your friends are probably sick of you talking about your blog whereas us bloggers love it! Its so much more then posting and getting more followers, it’s a family of like-minded people who can support one another. If I have a question I can ask instead of googling it!
So the 8th of February finally came and boy did it not disappoint! I got the impression that it was definitely going to be bigger but wow!
It was hosted in the beautiful Radisson Hotel in Galway. I got there early so waited in the bar for people to arrive, and yes I had a sneaky glass of wine with Sandra from A Modern Mommy’s World.
We were welcomed to a pink reception of fruit punch and macaroons. Can you believe I had never had a macaroon before! Yummy!
The event itself was hosted in the veranda room. This was perfect for the Valentine’s Day theme. It was decorated with pretty pink lights. The seats were allocated and our goodie bags ready on our seats!
The event started with Siabh giving us a run-down of the day.
Miraka from OMIG Marketing started with a presentation about SEO. I found this great as this is an area of blogging that I’m not so good at.
Next up was Siobhan from Letz Makeup. I was extremely excited to hear her as I’m a newly qualified MUA and unsure what to do next.
Siobhan’s story is amazing. She has been vlogging for 4 years and has over 200,000 followers! What I really loved about her was how normal and down to Earth she was. Just another Irish girl like myself.
We then had a break for food and networking. The food was lovely! We were treated to mini burgers, chicken goujons and cocktail sausages. There was also lovely treats on our table and dotted around the room.
I made my way around the room chatting to the pop up shops and stands
(Debenhams, Cotton Face Vintage, Atir Shapewear, Make Me Sparkle, Young Blood, Peter Marks, Basianti, and David McConville Orthodontics)
After some mingling, we went back to our seats and had the final talks. The Galway Player was up next with his hilarious insight into twitter! He gave us some great tips on when to post what not to do.
Last but most certainly not least was Kate Kelly from Cocoa Brown. Her talk was highly informative. She gave us the run down on her career and it’s great to hear when people say they found their dream job! It inspires me to find mine! She then answered all our questions on how to approach PR companies. This was excellent for us bloggers.
I loved chatting to the people and they actually knew my blog! Unreal!
I had a brilliant day. It was great to catch up with friends from the last event and the new ones I meet. It was a hectic day so I know I didn’t get to chat to everyone but I can’t wait to meet you at the next one in May.
Finally, I have to thank both Sinead and Siabh for organising such a fabulous event, well done ladies x.
